Silently...

Sans Bruit by Patrick Fiori; Translation into English

“Silently” by Patrick Fiori

She searches his pockets
to persuade herself a little more
that life is not ugly,
that it is just a bit crowded
by angelic girls
closely watching her boyfriend.
She knows the music
but her eyes remain dry.

Silently
he will deceive her,
silently
he will come back,
to say that
it is only her he loves
and that life is a gipsy,
and oh so silently
her tears appear.

She will ask her suitcases
standing on the platform of the railway
about how to break
those intimate illusions.
She will re-live her life
in her head for thousand times,
but what the night decides
only tomorrow can tell.

Silently
he will betray her,
silently
he will come back,
to say
that it is only her he loves
and that life can become a bitch
and silently
her entire heart bleeds

She will think the worst
walking along the locks of a canal,
though she prefers to suffer
without finding any excuses.
She will talk of him
as if he was dead,
and at his picture
she will cast the spell.

Silently
she will deceive him,
silently
she will come back
cursing the empty flat.
The life is carnivorous
and silently
it rolls back to hell.

Silently
he will betray her,
silently
he will come back,
to say that
it is only her he loves
and that life can become a bitch
and silently
her entire heart bleeds

Silently….

Elle en fera des poches
Pour mieux se persuader
Que sa vie n’est pas moche
Qu’elle est juste encombr;e
Par des filles ang;liques
Qui regardent son mec
Elle conna;t la musique
Mais ses yeux restent secs

Sans bruit
Il la trompera
Sans bruit
Puis il rentrera
Lui dire
Y’ a que toi que j’aime
La vie est une boh;mienne
Et c’est sans bruit
Que les larmes viennent

Elle posera ses valises
Sur les quais des grandes lignes
Pour voir comment se brisent
Les illusions intimes
Elle refera sa vie
Mille fois dans sa t;te
Mais ce qu’on d;cide la nuit
Demain sera peut-;tre

Sans bruit
Il la trahira
Sans bruit
Puis il rentrera

Lui dire
Y’ a que toi que j’aime
La vie peut devenir chienne
Et c’est sans bruit
Que tout son c;ur saigne

Elle pensera au pire
En longeant des ;cluses
Mais elle pr;f;re souffrir
Sans se trouver d’excuses
Elle parlera de lui
Comme s’il ;tait mort
Sur sa photographie
Elle jettera des sorts

Sans bruit
Elle le trompera
Sans bruit
Puis elle rentrera
Maudire
L’appartement d;sert
La vie est une carnassi;re
Et c’est sans bruit
Qu’on rentre en enfer

Sans bruit
Il la trahira
Sans bruit
Puis il rentrera
Lui dire
Y’ a que toi que j’aime
La vie peut devenir chienne
Et c’est sans bruit
Que tout son c;ur saigne

Sans bruit
Sans bruit
