Midnight dreamer
A stranger’s walking in your dream.
Tiptoeing gently on the floor,
He’s quietly knocking at your door.
You hear him whispering your name
And feel your hands bound with a chain.
Between the sun and moonlight gleam
You hope that it is still a dream.
Don’t fall awake and see him try
To weep for you a lullaby
If this is what you really wanted
To be in sleep by strangers haunted.
He’ll heal your frail wounded heart
From now you’ll never drift apart.
He guards your sleep and timeless dream
Forever marked by moonlight gleam.
You wished he’d come when you were breathing
And death around was not wreathing
Just rest and know he came on time
When clocks your final hour chimed.
Between two worlds to him surrendered
When he your private chambers entered
Tiptoeing gently on the floor,
He’s not a stranger anymore.
