Inner child
She never sleeps, she never cries.
She likes each sunrise and sunset
With endless glimmer in her eyes.
My little girl, you laugh so much,
You're cheerful and carefree,
You touch as much as you can touch,
You see as much as you can see.
My little girl, you play and sing,
You paint with colours of the life,
I play with you, but I am sick,
I am as dead as you're alive.
I want to warn my little friend
Of life so sharp and cold like steel.
You'll undergo, I am afraid,
All suffering I used to feel:
When only starry sky above
Can understand your spirit moves.
When anyone you truly love
Is very close but aloof.
Don't know, darling, where you are,
I seek your little shiny voice.
I need a daily chocolate bar -
My life is bitterer than yours.
But as you are a part of me,
I feel your sparks inside my veins.
What's getting in my way? You see:
I'm not hard-hearted nor insane!
And when I sing and play guitar,
My sight is open, mind is freed.
The World, so beautiful you are!
Why people never notice it?
The adults know a lot of things,
You know the most important, though.
My inner child that never sleeps -
Please, never ever let me go.
