Blood on my hands, heaven on my mind
I ascend into your head.
They said I was getting madder,
Claimed that You're already dead.
On the ladder's top I stood
Mesmerized by what I saw.
You have lectured me on Good?
You have spoken of the law?
I have never felt delight
Greater than I feel this day
Some would say that it is spite,
That did not turn me away.
I approached a piece of you,
And I tore it into bits.
I destroyed the you I knew
And you lost your final wits.
You revealed it all to me,
But it mattered little now.
I ignored your bogus plea,
I did not obey my vow.
From your twisted shards I took
That which I set out to find.
Turned my back on your last look
As I left your broken mind.
Down the dreamy rainbow ladder
I descend onto the earth.
They said I was getting madder,
But they witnessed my rebirth.
