Princess and Dragon

A long time ago in a foreign lost Land
A Princess went down to a river to stand.
She sat for the rest on sunny-hot sand
And started to comb her coppery strand.

A Dragon insensibly stole up to her
And went into hiding behind the fir,
But his golden scales so shone in the sun,
The dragon’s disguise at once was undone.

The Princess was scared in earnest of course,
She’s never seen dragons in front of so close.
The Princess was crying and calling for help,
But suddenly he said in human voice: “Yep!

I promise you jewels are kept in a cave,
I promise you pearl from the seabed I save,
And splendid apparels of silk and brocade”.
But the Princess just snorted and answered with hate:

“I needn’t your treasure, ‘cause I have chests of gems,
I needn’t your dress, ‘cause all my with gold hems,
I needn’t a beast in a kingdom of mine,
‘cause every day princes take a place in a line”.

The Dragon offended and fluttered away,
Got married a seamstress exactly that day.
A spell dissipated, he turned in a King,
And the Princess was left in her Kingdom on beans.
