Becoming known or his drive and gift of improvisation and transformation,
Hawkins achieved commercial/critical success and audiences’ admiration.

Coleman fulfilled his musical ambition, talent, polished his skill and ability.
He manifested a wide spectrum of his creativity, novelty and versatility.
Hawkins showed a unique approach to music expression, interpretation.
A new jazz language - changing chord structure became his innovation.
