A quiet and lonely night

A quiet night. So wondrous and so clear
Are the skies. As if you can just hear
The whisper of the lonely planets above
Way up there, myriads of miles away.
You’re thinking of your distant love,
Wondering if some precious day
You’d taste the joy of her presence
And realizing the passing evanescence
Of this joyous moment, you just grasp it
And enjoy it, cherishing it like your only asset.
You hope that some time, some day, some year
She’ll come your way and will always be there.
