Reformation Day

October thirty first is Reformation Day
When we remember people for Scriptures fighting
Whose labours then were not in vain,
Whose light in our world continues shining.

Sola scriptura means authority of Word,
It doesn’t need another interpretation,
The Bible is the instrument of God
By which He directs people to salvation.

Sola fide means justifying by the faith
Without any need of good works for salvation
By God this faith in us is raised
To kill the sinful self and make the new creation.

And Sola gratia means we’re saved by grace
It’s gift by God for Jesus’ sake alone
And no good works can the gift replace,
In it God’s sole actor, we should know.

And Solus Christus teaches that Christ is
From us to God the only mediator
The general priesthood of baptized exists
Who serve with their hearts to God Creator.

And Soli Deo Gloria means that glory whole
Is due to God alone since salvation
Accomplished through His will and we’re called
By Holy Spirit for hearts’ sanctification.
