A crowd waited anxiously,
All dressed in their best clothes waiting for the Captain to return.
Family and friends alike had not seen him in three years
And they wanted to celebrate his return.
The first mate greeted everybody at the dock.
With an anxious look, he reported the bad news.
The Captain’s wife turned and started to walk away.
Without shedding a tear she led the silent march home.
The crowd became faceless to her
As she marched toward a pointless future.
She anxiously wondered what she would do
While her husband’s men prepared to lay him to rest at sea.
