Remember Waterloo
Scars on Mars
Remember Waterloo
Beneath blue skies the years have passed
But grass still smells as blend of blood and hope
Since then the world has seldom seen bouquets of hanging ropes
Long after eve of Byron times
Each era engages its own Waterloo
The ground is red beneath green grass
Awakes each morning in the sweat of dew
Leaned ear hears the roar of guns and beat of drums
Remembering Waterloo
