Перевод стихотворения С. А. Есенина
This is it, I made up my mind -
I will leave never to come back.
Autumn leaves will be no more flying
Clinging down from the poplar neck.
Time goes by and my house collapses,
My old dog here died long ago.
Moscow winding streets, this place is
Where Lord will retract my soul.
Yes I do love this city of elm-trees
And no matter how sagging it is
Golden drowsy Asian land sleeps
On the top of the churches in peace.
Late at night when the moon is shining,
How it dares to shine at all!
Looking down I am making my way
To the pub where I’d drown my soul.
Noisy fuss round this creepy lair,
And I'm here all the night to the dawn,
Reading poems to harlots unfair,
Helping criminals make alcohol.
Feel my heart racing more and more often
And I'm loosing all sense of words.
I am hopeless like another orphan
No way back where I'd make it all worse.
Time goes by, my old house collapses,
My old dog here died long ago.
Moscow winding streets, this place is
Where Lord will retract my soul.
