The Late Quartet

An abyss. This evening it's the view from the seventh floor -
the sidewalk and a long line of cars parked along the curb.
The last Beethoven's quartet has been played and a Life, as before,
is lost. The heart lost in a struggle, the hand in strings and the bow.

The opus 131 - the seven disturbing parts
played as one movement - life does not have time for a pause –
the instruments are getting tired, their tuning is lost,
but “Quartet” had been played, the last note died, became a ghost.

Music defying Life, defying her predictable rhythms,
and is tragic in being triumphed over itself.
The “Grosse Fugue” is the end of the sound. The air is smitten.
A hall is small, Life is small for the music to fit.

The “Last Quartet” and “Grosse Fugue” are the Cross - death defying act,
the demonic throw of notes into the deaf-dead-dark.

Sasha, I really like it. All articles and the title need some editing, though

Спасибо, значит еще не домучил. Вы видели "The Late Quartet"?
Это с него началось - и потом с Ops. 133 и 131.
Решился выставить, но наверное еще сыро.
Еще раз спасибо.
