My mirror
Since long ago I see moonlight reflection in your eyes,
I contemplate the best in you, my distant hero,
But you're elusive like a summer butterfly.
Since long ago you read me like an ancient book,
Gently turning over my faded leaves,
What I treasure most I dared to see in you,
And what I didn't I search for in twilight dreams.
I saw the unbelievable in depth of those eyes,
I cried for unforgettable yet willing to forget,
Nobody took me higher up in fluffy sky,
I remember everything and won't burn it in regrets.
I brushed away the dust from precious mirror,
I looked in it when scarlet dawn broke up the stars,
I took it in my hands when evening crept like hunter near
Ready to shoot with leaden bullets twice into my scars.
They say it's dangerous to look inside the broken mirror,
They say but I took risk to see your diamond eyes,
No nagging doubts in my head, no boiling fear,
I saw just bleeding heart of mine in cubes of ice.
One by one splinters thrust deep into my skin,
I felt no pain, just pools of colorless blood,
Tiny pieces of heart will be gently scattered by wind
And finally fall like dust into summer mud.
But this story might have had another ending,
With all the delicate aromas of the spring,
With all the tastes of fruits and sweetest candies,
And only kisses could be spread by caring wind.
If only I said all the silent words I had to say,
If you only moved stones lying on the way to me,
We saw the difficulties but have chosen the easiest way,
Stumbling over we simply came and crushed the dream.
