Fleeting life

Fleeting is life, and nothing is certain,
Nothing but death, as the ancients have taught.
Who knows that? May be all this Creation
Is nothing but thought, just the passing of thought.

Whatever is gathered will be scattered around,
Whatever is built later will fall.
If a meeting is there, a parting is bound.
A carnivorous time will be taking its toll.

               Those who weep will be laughing aloud
Refrain: Kingdoms will fall and the rulers will die.
               What can you hold onto, can be certain about?
               This moment of time, the blink of an eye.

If there's an echo, there must have been sound.
Whoever is born will imminently die.
What is real then, on what can you count?

Facing the fate and being disarmed
Think only once, what risk will you choose.
A past is all gone, a future cannot be found,
Life is only a dream, you have nothing to lose!
