Song Of Breeze

Again, again I hear the sound
And feel the smell of ship’s playground
Where I have spent half life at seas
And more “Eyes front!” than “Stand at ease!”
And Life itself was measured value
Upcoming with the catchcry: “Hey, you!”
Oh, yes, we were what’s called “fresh springs”
With fancy-schmancy earings,
And waves that rocked ship up-n-down
Carried away us from hometown!
Remember Gulfstream’s gutty waters,
Remember wives, and brides, and daughters,
Remember mothers, sons and fathers,
Remember friends and many others?!.
… Time passed away, we're all ashore…
Where’s our ships we dreamed before?
The only thing I ever miss –
That smell of salt, and youth, and breeze…

Thanks mate! "That smell of salt, and youth, and breeze..." is the best! And if it's still in your heart, you're still ready for sailings!

Best regards, Alexey

PS: a few comments, if you don't mind:
- Where're our ships; or Where's our ship
- We've dreamed before?
- a/the ship's playground. I don't know if it is appropriate to skip articles in English poetry. And I understand why we want to do that all the time.

In this context, "ship's playground" sounds quite well without any article, 'cause I say 'bout ships in general, neither one of the ships, nor certain ship.
"Where's our ships" - again, I met such expressions thousand times in colloquial speach and I used it absolutely on purpose, as part of the seamen's language.
Thanks for review and...YES, I AM READY! And soon I'll go again!
Regards
