Alexander Pushkin has a reputation of the greatest Russian poet. Pushkin is considered as the founder of the modern Russian literary language.



In the mundane, boundless and gloomy steppe,

Three springs mysteriously have made their way:

The spring of youth, that is rebellious with quick step

It runs and boils sparkling, bubbling, so gay.

Castalian spring by wave of inspiration

In the mundane steppe gives drink to the pilgrims.

The last spring is the cold spring of neglection,

It’ll quench fire of the heart sweeter of all springs.
