***

The sky was beautiful, but long ago,
And our stars were glowing in the dark
Though some of us forgot, I can't let go
As if I am a dog that cannot bark.

My soul is torn asunder, I can't see -
They truly did their best to make me blind,
Condemned to darkness people dance with glee,
Their faces, tastes and manners so refined.

I was the same, but once I saw the light,
The sky so blue, so bright - it hurt my eyes,
And so I cried and looked away in fright,
It came to me: the one, who sees it, dies.

Thus far I wander through the darkest night,
There is no refuge for my wounded soul.
I lost my heart the moment when again I lost my sight,
And nothing but the sky will make my spirit whole.
