Rhodes
Dedicated to all the “invisible inhabitants” of the IWTCR
Rhodes – th’ rainbow of roads,
some to rhyme and some to prose.
Stella Maris, a bed of roses,
Rhodes – radient, royal, modest!
She’s an island, a girl, a goddess,
she’s a house of rising wind!
Look: tremendous, huge wave grows,
listen: furious Aeolus roars,
knocks at your window with his wings,
with his solemn ancient wings…
Words are trembling like the strings,
and the golden doorbell rings:
“Here’s Rhodes, here she is!
Jump, my friend, the book begins!”
…Rhodes brings us close to logos…

прим. авт.:
1. IWTCR - International Writers and Translators' Centre of Rhodes.
2. The “invisible inhabitants” - определение приглашённых в этот "Дом творчества" писателей и переводчиков (из стихотворения Ольги Чернышевой (Olga Chernysheva) "A mysterious house": "As for house inhabitants, all look quite strange. / They are almost invisible people / being locked just as birds in a mythical cage; / on computers their songs are written").
3. Родос – по одним мифам – жена, по другим – дочь Гелиоса. В путеводителе (на англ., но написанном греками) об этом острове говорится в женском роде.
