Dear Mr. Stefan Hertrich! I’m aware
That I’m a common rhymester (It’s too true!),
But I assume it would have been unfair
If I had not composed a single rhyme for you,
Because, you know, from time to time I write
Some birthday rhymes. Not everyone’s so kind
As to be grateful, I must say, but that’s all right –
I write not for a “thanks!”, thus I don’t mind.
So, it’s your birthday, and I want to wish
You everything you’d like to wish yourself.
And may your life be your most favourite “dish”,
Seasoned with health and spiced with luck and wealth.
With those ingredients you’ll give a dare
 To all mishaps and foes – that’s… kein Problem! :)))
Come on! You are a lion, not a hare,
So win your prize and triumph over them!
P.S. It’s good such days as birthdays will recur!
