Under the azure firmament,
Within the rocks of old
Stands on a river like a monument
A town best of all.
Memorials are witnesses
Of the great events of the past:
Of the ravages of wars, and savageness,
And of the martyrdom, at last.
Lo and behold! Our ancient town
Is prospering nowadays.
The Iron Curtain has fallen down,
We sing you our praise,
O you, our Yekaterinburg,
The town of dreams and hopes,
And wish you happiness in this world
Of love, where freedom reigns.
