Dreamland. Free verse
May honeymoon...
it was so bright but fast
like midnight dream.
All now remains
the lonely rainy fall –
the end of bliss.
My heart reminds
your soul’s gentle touch
and tender kiss…
THE LEMON TREE
I found myself in a lemon tree
it grew so high in Lemonland
birds below
and birds above me
were my folks in faith.
And it was so amazing
to hang around with them
chat away to them and sing with them
the song of love and freedom
that sounded
so strange but familiar to me.
And it was so exiting
to climb the lemon-tree among the lemon stars
up and higher
and be so light as I had never been
and feel so free as I had never felt
within my busy mind
inside my human body
before.
THE MATCHLESS GIFT
Your heart is made
of pure crystal
that's so transparent
unflawed and clear.
But how alive it is!
And beautiful.
And tender.
Like your neck
and your shoulders
and arms –
it’s so fragile.
(As well as your dreams).
And like you –
it's a simple perfection.
Because perfect
is always simple.
If only you know
how anxious I am to remain
the permanent keeper
of that matchless gift
which you trusted me once
so confidently.
RISING SUN BLUES
When I heard “Rising Sun Blues”*
for the very first time
I was twelve years old.
When I first heard
its mystical sounds
it was like a bomb blown up
somewhere
in the deep of my soul
and broke my heart to the tiniest pieces.
When I first heard
“The House of the Rising Sun”
I couldn’t help crying
and wept so bitterly with all my heart.
And I didn't realize the reason of my tears.
And then
I picked up my dad’s old guitar
and sang this song to feel it
again and again.
It was my first love that I
first sang with my guitar.
I have come with it through all my life.
And there were so many songs in it!
But none of them
could even compare with her.
And I will remain faithful to her
till the very end as only a man
can be faithful
to the very first kiss and the very first love
which is so similar
to the genuine rising sun
that never sets down.

OLDER
My eyes
are getting older every day –
and less distinctly
they can see
your faraway mountains
on the distant horizon of dreams
My body
is getting older every day –
and it’s become
so difficult for it
flying to you every night
as a moth
But it doesn't concern
my deep-loving heart
which sees you every moment
and my evergreen soul
that will never get tired
of drinking your spring tenderness
GENTLE WHISPER
grasshoppers, stars
and mattioli... your gentle
whisper on my lips
THE SENSE OF VELVET
Feeling
strange feeling
so warm and tender
that delicate feeling
of embracing the sky
of touching the velvet
the penetration sense
of diving into the water
so deep and full –
it makes him crazy...
And he is melting
like a candle
that's burning warming
two lonely hearts –
as if he were her
as if she were him –
two separated hearts
which are together
in sweetest
dreams
SAGA OF VIOLA AND CELLO
They were born long ago
in two different countries
and the different ages.
They were made by the hands
of two different masters.
They could not meet to sing
as a marvellous duet.
In the cage of unfreedom
they were dreaming of it
as an air castle of theirs.
And they heard their voices
for the thousands of miles.
And they longed for the song
in the dead of the night
when the whole world
was falling asleep.
They sang their duet –
the melody of love
the Saga of Vio and Cello
which was heard
by the Heaven and stars.
And it sounded as a prayer
about the day of bliss
when they joined their bodies together
throwing off the shackles of bondage
casting off their chains of duty –
and sang in full voices at last.
Lots of years have passed
lots of water
has flowed under the bridges.
But they are still keeping on singing –
two purest voices
of Viola and Cello –
the sweetest taboo for each other.
Can you hear this song
at the break of the day
when the dawn is being born again?
