Midsummer Blues

Man, I want it to rain
Then I'll be glad and fain
And I won't have this midsummer blues

I want leaves to be falling
Through the middle of fall and
Want these pathways to be moist as slews

I want birds to be singing
Though they do it in spring
They can also get midsummer blues

Wish the wind did blow
Through this midsummer snow
In the shade of a tree
Nowhere else I would go

Man, I want it to rain
I've got heat in my veins
And I still have this midsummer blues

And I still got this feeling
That this poplar wool's fleeing
But there's some of it trapped in my shoes

Wish the wind did blow
Through this midsummer snow
In the shade of a tree
Nowhere else I would go
