The night before

HER- It was the night before I died.  Nobody knew my feelings.
How it all happened? I did not die physically, no; my body seemed the same, functioning like always, but my mind and spirit turned upside down.  I transformed  in a way that I did not feel like myself anymore. Every time I looked in the mirror, I saw her, someone stranger to me.  The way I looked, the way I talked and the way I smiled I felt like her, that lady in the mirror.  Someone I really don’t know, someone strange to me, and at the same time so familiar. Despite my anxiety, I began speaking with her. I say – Hey, How are you?

HER- When I was born it was a different time. My mom was always telling me about the past, she believed it was a better time than now.  Maybe, maybe not, but that's how people usually think about the past. My mom was alive at that time, and she was happy, young and beautiful.  I admired her when she was singing, she had a magnificent voice.  When I was a baby, I could not speak, but I remember her sound, a voice so full of emotion, magnificent voice, that you stop breathing, forget about everything, about time, about the past, future and even forget about present. You just listened, and watched as you enjoyed every moment of her singing. She is the one, who brings your soul.

HER -I remember her smile.  Magic Mother’s smile…a comforting and warm smile of a mother.  Yes, it is her, the women in the mirror, watching me every day. I begin to recognize her more and more. I recognize her smile on my face. What that smile is about?
It’s like a smile of Giaconda, smile of everything and nothing, a smile of secret, a mystic smile. It is a smile of love. Could it be?  Am I in love?! No, impossible! Or, no no no no..
I remember we met.  He was simply dancing with me, nothing more.  Yes, of course, we were drinking a little, a glass of wine, can’t remember, Merlot or Cabernet, does not matter, but nothing else.   Yes, of course, he was trying to kiss me, but it was a gentle kiss, nothing else, very, very gentle, it was so romantic, but nothing more.   Yes, of course it was late, and we went to his place, and he was such a gentlemen. But nothing else, nothing, and somehow the next morning I woke up with him in the bed, but nothing else…

HER - My Lord, My God, Oh my goodness, did I get married? Am I a married woman?

HIM -Yes my Dear, you are married.
You don’t even remember who you married, do you? I remember a time, when we were young; we took a train to escape from the city, from our everyday lives, from our parents.  We went to a FAR AWAY LAND, a place I read about it in the library. I picked up a little map to avoid getting lost, but we almost got lost anyway.  When we were standing on the top of the mountain, the wind suddenly blew the map out of my hands. Luckily you caught it or else we would have died in the middle of nowhere with little hope of ever being found.
 In FAR AWAY LAND, the sun was always shining, the mind was always running and you never knew the right time to eat, sleep or move.
HER -You never knew the right time to do anything.
HIM -At one point the visibility was very poor because of the fog and we were stuck in the mountains without water, but you, my dear, found a way to collect raindrops off the rocks.
HER -That’s disgusting! How can I drink water from the rocks?  We sound like animals, are you sure we drank it?
HIM -We were both tired, my dear, without food or shelter,  and water, so we walked for miles and miles. Suddenly you told me, “I can’t move my legs any more, let me just sit and rest here.”  When you sat down and looked around, you shouted, “ Look, look, there is a shelter, can’t you see it?” It was a nice hunter cabin with a sign that read:
“If you are lost, you can use this cabin and stay for a long as you wish, there is food on the shelves.”
At that moment we were the happiest people on earth. We lived like husband and wife in the middle of nowhere, far away from the city in FAR AWAY LAND

HER -Always say so, it’s easy to say. What about my dreams? Are they going to disappear, or is this is my dream that came true, what will happen now, after I realized that I died and that I am married to 'him'. How can I live without my dreams now? Should I have a different one? Just last night, I had a similar dream the night before I died, it was a dream, and it was my dream, my sweet, sweet dream.

HIM -Eventually, after all, we came back home from FAR AWAY LAND, to our city, to our parents. I was hoping our relationship would last forever. But you, my dear, got married to someone else, unexpectedly, unpredictable, like always, just because you wanted a baby and you got pregnant by someone you met at the club. What you did to me, my dear, how you hurt my feelings, nobody will ever know. But, you know how people say, if you want something done right, do it yourself. You did it to yourself,  and I did it too. No one can feel my heart is in pain.

HIM -I was fighting for you; I was ready to marry you even though you’ve got pregnant by someone else. I was begging you to marry me. But you, my dear, liked adventures, you were unpredictable. You married a miserable man.
HER - But you were my friend, and you always will be. You helped me in all my situations, good or bad as I did for you. Do you remember on that trip in FAR AWAY LAND, you were tightened by the quagmire in the swamp, and almost died. I gave you a long stick to hold, and pulled you up from the swamp. It was frightening, I didn’t know where I would get the force to pull you out.  You are a heavy man by the way, you know!What if you would sink and I would stay alone  in the middle of nowhere.  What feelings I had at that time? The thought of losing you forever,  made my mind go dark for a moment. I could not believe that you may die.

HER -Luckily, we pulled through it and you survived. We worked together as a team, as one belief, as two souls in one spirit, and we continued our journey through the swamp. In the swamp we found one tiny place, one tiny land where we can rest, make a fireplace and put a tent. We were dirty, wet, but very happy.
HIM – Like little pigs.
HER -Somehow, we survived.  We were amazed, surprised and we felt wonderful to see each other together.
HIM – It was so wonderful to see your dirty face and to catch your eye.

I proposed to you again, but you did not answer, you just looked at your little girl and sang.
