I’ve dropped a tear
      upon my broken dream.

The sky was lilac,
      night was coming up,
The world around
      Was going slowly dim,
And on the floor
      I saw the broken cup.
It happened then
      when all I want was gone.
Just every wish
      I ever had in life
Became unreal,
      turned to real stone –
That day has come:
      I saw your present wife.
So, no sense
      in future now I see.
Just all my dreams
      surrounded only you.
I know, happiness
      will come one day to me,
And I’ll need time
      to think of someone new.
But still no good
      I see in now-time life,
I will just try
      to follow common stream.
The very day
      I saw your present wife

I’ve dropped a tear
      upon my broken dream.
