Once upon a time
I wrote a funny rhyme
About a silver dime
That had the nicest chime
I ever, ever heard.
I tossed it in the air.
It fell on a wooden chair.
You should be aware
That chair was not square –
It looked like a bare head.
The coin turned around
And made a ringing sound,
And hopped like a little clown
Performing on the ground
In yellow, blue and red.
The magic coin inspired
My fantasies and fire
Of my poetic lyre,
But soon I got so tired
That mom carried me to bed.
