As quit as the rebel
As quit as the rebel
I was as quiet as I could be
Under my lowest whispering breath
In the crowd when it was rowdy
A fate worse than any death
I didn’t resist control and convention
I brought myself up the rear of line
Why did I slip out of my position
And was in mater that was not mine
In published newly pieces of paper
You could see me among the rebels of the day
My name was in the block capital letter
The guards of the order stood across my way
