About a woman - перевод

She swore but rarely. Always asked me
If I forgive her for calling late, and
She liked her cigarettes slim and classy,
And loved me. Probably - even meant it.

And she would leave while the rain was drizzling,
No cup of coffee, no "miss you, darling".
She thought that this was the course of wisdom
In our strange, idiotic current.

She thought that I was deranged and sickly,
A circus clown - its saddest member.
And she was visiting me in secret
For three years, four years? I don't remember.

She always brought me a single bottle
Of Scottish whisky, some cheese, so smelly.
But yesterday she just brought some sausage
And Russian buttermilk from a deli.

She said she bought it for him and child, but
She cannot live in this stupid riddle,
That she is tired of lies and hiding.
And that she needs him. And that she needs me.

She said "goodbye" for the first time - lost me.
Forgot her sausage, the night was ending.
It happened probably back in Moscow.
Or New York City? I don't remember.

Она материлась довольно редко,
Она извинялась, звоня мне ночью,
Любила тонкие сигаретки,
Меня любила. Наверно – очень.

Она под дождь уходила утром.
Без поцелуев, без звона чашек,
Она считала, что это – мудро
При отношеньях дурацких наших.

Она считала меня уродом:
«Тебе бы в цирке смешить дебилов»
Она встречалась со мной три года.
А может, это четыре было?

Она всегда приносила виски
И треугольник рокфорный сыра,
А вдруг вчера принесла сосиски
И, почему-то, пакет кефира.

Она сказала, что «так не может,
Кефир – домой, и сосиски – мужу»,
Что «как же всё надоело, боже!
И он мне нужен, и ты мне нужен!»

Она впервые со мной простилась,
Она сосиски забрать забыла.
Такси по сонной Москве катилось.
А может, это в Нью-Йорке было.
