I ask philosophy

I ask philosophy - detached, wise -
A simple cure to help forget my sorrows
Peripatetics, Stoics could advise:
They had obtained rules of getting freedom.

And I repeat their lessons, learnt by heart:
No hope, no fear, no pain and no desire,
No sin, no blame, no quarrel, no regret
The aim's to be dispassionate forever.

No even thought of the forbidden man,
No force against the cruel circumstances,
Stand pain and cold, and heat, and any trouble -
And no complain, become a perfect Stoic.

I do my best to follow all the rules -
Yet cannot live without my beloved.
