what ll you say
Losing its brightness as time flew away
In my hands – your cold voice that somehow still tries
To make me forget the things I made stay
You say years make it better, how do you know
Why I have been remaining for years the same
While you’re turning your ‘yes’ into shouting ‘no’
When I’d always forgive you if only you came
I remember myself lying down on the floor
Killing hopelessness, hoping you would understand
And if only that moment you’d opened the door
You’d have seen what a man feels so close to the end
You say I will forget, but I’m falling apart
Why did I feel your absence when you were near?
What’ll you say having been for so long in my heart
If one day you find out that you are still here…?

Very nice try, dear Sonya, very nice!
Killing hopelessness, hoping you would understand – I liked this; perhaps, substitute “hoping” (double hope) with “praying” (or believing).
You’d have seen what a man feels so close to the end – the best line!
Have a nice day,
Mikhail

but, you see, - "hopelessness" and "hoping" has been made not by chance.
i tried to put a stress on the fact that "he" anyway hopes for something - despite "--=--lessness"
thank you for attention
