A Trip

A TRIP

I’m walking on a naked land,
Four crying crows above my head.
My trip has Aim to find the Book
Of Wisdom for to have a look at.
The Book of Wisdom is to give
All people knowledge how to live
  From the Creation.
I’m wise enough to believe
That I don’t know how to live
And feel Temptation.
I want to know how to live,
For this I’m coming in a river.
In depths of water there is fish
That could be lovely as a dish.
For fish, they really believe
The more you swim, the more you live.
And on that side I see a woman,
Her thoughts are beautiful and human.
For women easy to believe
The more you love, the more you live.
I’m making for a mountain
And see a lion walking down to me.
For lions easy to believe
The more you eat, the more you live.
But to my gladness he is fed
And even up, and I am saved.
I meet a group of children playing
A very much composed game.
For children easy to believe
The more you play, the more you live.
And then I meet a man of science
And he is catching butterflies.
For scholars easy to believe
The more you know, the more you live.
I see a drunkhard, he must think
It’s very interesting to drink.
For drunkhards easy to believe
The more you drink, the more you live.
High in the sky an eagle flies
He cannot but attract my eyes.
For eagles easy to believe
The more you fly, the more you live.
In my direction flits a bird
That sits in trees and sings a lot.
For little birds, they still believe
The more you sing, the more you live.
Far on the end of a naked land
My trip is nearly to end.

And see so easy words to read:
If you’re a woman you believe
The more you love, the more you live;
If you’re a lion you believe
The more you eat, the more you live;
If you’re an eagle, you believe
The more you fly, the more you live…
But if you see and understand
You can be anyone of them.
When I began my trip I was
Much younger. Now things are worse.
I failed to notice how to live
At the beginning of the trip?!
