To a Friend

I wish you to be an excellent sailor
In the sea that is called Life
Not to bend under the heavy north wind
And to be able to fight.

Hold your oars tightly with your aim in mind
Let it brighten that way of yours
And try to put all your troubles behind
In order to reach your goals.

However, sometimes life can become tough
In the blink of an eye throwing you overboard.
And the blow may be so hard
That you will only groan.

It is not that you shouldn't ask "Why? Am I right?"
Trying to explain such a turn of events,
BUT IT IS FATE WHO RUNS THE WHOLE SHOW
Not informing you beforehand.

Well, don't panic, be strong, go ahead,
Take your time in desire to win
And eventually everithing will turn out
Exactly as you want it to be.

I actually liked your piece – not nicely rounded but to the point and with determination, too.

The most beautiful and lyrical part is:

But Fate runs the whole show
Not informing you beforehand.

Good job, well done.

Thank you very much, my dear friend, for your great kindness. I just wanted to help people, to say to them that they need to battle in all circumstances and never put their hands down. However, Fate definitely DOES run the whole show most of the times, never informing us. But, nonetheless, people never should hide their heads into the sand as if they were ostriches, but should try meeting their troubles with open visor.

Help you God, my dear friend!

With love - Elena
