Pure Love
There's Pure Love on Earth.
Pure Love forever lasts...
What a foolish thing to trust!
Pure Love's immortal. So
Don't wait for it, but go
Look for it and you will fail
Pure Love's a fairy-tale.
It's for children to believe,
It's for fools to prey and live,
It's for girls to marry soon,
But it is just a baloon!
A balloon which maybe flies
In the blue and clear skies,
But if it begins to rain
Pure Love is just a flame.
Darling, you are not the first,
You are neither best, nor worst.
Step by step my love has passed...
Darling, you are not the last.
It's so useless to pretend
That the love will never end.
Pure Love forever lasts...
What a foolish thing to trust!

Just the other day we were discussing the fact that there is no virtue left and if a person cannot even maintain a friend like they should, how in the world can they expect to be in love forever? Today we are best friends. Tomorrow, when a better offer or a more glamorous friend comes along, weЎ¦re yesterdayЎ¦s news. Ў§We are undoubtedly a generation devoted to instant gratification; from fast food to broadband internet access. We are encouraged to construct our own morality based on how we feel at the time, rather than to aspire to traditional virtues. This attitude neglects history, larger society, and does not consider the ramifications for consequent generations. Subsequently, our culture is riddled with self-centeredness, and we constantly evaluate personal gain from an experience, organization, or another individual. Rather than asking what we can give, or how we can serve, we ask how they make us feel, or if they are meeting our needs. By using this index to define our values, they become subjective, unfixed and self-serving. Without a universal morality to govern our conduct, our relationships become impelled by the whims of individualism.
Ў§We desire relationships ordered by virtue and the security and solidarity they can provide. Those who lose this intimacy often compensate by sentimentalising their friendships, describing them in overly affectionate language. We idealise our relationships by focusing on how another person makes us feel, rather than honoring the commitment and self-sacrifice involved. Sentimentalisation is essentially a counterfeit of a virtuous love. It looks like the traditional model, but places feelings rather than loyalty or common interest at the foundation. Capricious emotions do not provide an enduring foundation. Sentimentality has been abetted by the segregation of age groups in modern society, which has left youth lacking a model of love and friendship.ЎЁ
Ha Ha thatЎ¦s enough prattling on and on ѓє ЎKЎKYour poem is full of vivid imagery and you touch the reader with your words and disappointment to the point of empathy. It is unfortunately, in my viewЎXaccurate for the most part!! Your descriptions are very very good. I will bring your attention to the spelling of Ў§balloonЎЁ it should be Ў§balloonЎЁЎK..Just excellent writing!! You have a gift! PS: you do know we will continue to trust even when we know it is vain. There is always that one tiny ray of hope and we will invariably reach for it.
I truly enjoyed reading your poemЎKЎKsorry I was so windedЎK..believe me, I am not usually. This will give you lots of practice, trying to figure out my writing. HahaЎK.Your friend Dark Moon (Sue).........Excellent Work!!!
