At Parting...

At Parting... (Blast From The Past)

I wonder how much truth there in your words
If yesterday you said: “I swear I love you”
And now you’re swearin’ at the best of worlds,

The world of love, by sayin’ it could kill you.
“I’ve changed, - you says. – Come, set me free forever.
I’m lookin’ forward in my search for something new.

Oh, boy, I just can’t standin’ still now. Whatsoever
Love’s gone. Forgive me and forget as I will do.”
So, what to say? You need my answer now or never

And I am still afraid to say adieu.
It hurts, you know? It hurts ‘cause there’s a feelin’.
It lives in veins, it drives my blood for you.

I can’t believe if there was any other meaning
But love, when you were sayin’ sacramental phrase.
It was just yesterday! So, your up-turn is killin’.

It puts me down and under in disgrace.
Yet, by the way, you ask me for reply again.
I have to give it now - this time and place.

So, take your freedom if our words were just in vain…
