Sometimes on a summer day...
when sky assumes the shade of limpid,
slightly hot forget-me-nots
before their petals start to wilt,
and everything that meets the eye
glows with inner radiance,
breeze comes skipping through the leaves
as visitors come winging in,
to call in cool notes that cascade like water
from the foliage, currawongs and other birds
familiar from the rainforest,
transporting me to times we sought
brief respite on Mount Tamborine,
evenings in the house perched like a nest
embraced by sturdy limbs,
listening to wind-songs in the chimney,
the tank-stand, the eaves,
as firewood snapped and hissed
its unintelligible oracles,
and we pretended no-one knew
about our ramshackle chalet,
where we could breathe more freely
and sleep peacefully, out of harm's way.

What a wonderful vision of the summer day! What a poetic view of the reality!
The petite-blue “forget-me not” is a very special flower for me. I have not realised that they are growing in Australia. As a child I admired the fragile and shy flowers around a fresh water lake.
Thank you for a beautiful moment
