Dream
A strangest yet of all –
A stranger in a robe
Came knocking at my door.
He had no eyes at all,
Instead there were two holes,
With glowing light inside,
Reflected to the floor.
He said he came for me,
And then, to my surprise
He even let me see,
The reason of disguise.
Last night I had a dream
That Death has come for me,
Was standing at my door,
My guide of rest to be.
- Dear friend, give me your hand,
It whispered with no smile,
- I’ll let you see the world you’d never
see for miles.
But what should I reply
To stranger with no eyes,
And how can I trust someone
Who I despise?
-Alas, I will not come,
Alas, I’d rather stay,
For I’m not prepared
to face such heavy day.
Save for, it came again,
As shadows on the walls.
I guess I can’t escape –
I’m not prepared at all!
Should I have packed my bags?
Should I have made my peace,
With everyone who lied, who I’m not to miss?
- Before we go, I said
I ask of your reply,
How did you loose
Your truly evil sight?
Expecting quick response
I laid myself to bed,
And waited for the end -
Beginning came instead.
- I see not what I do,
I see not who I take
It is a burden of mine
To take so many heads,
Especially from those who
Plead for second chance.
I pray no more than you,
For I have sinned – romance,
It was, they say tabooed.
I’ve taken my own sight
To spear myself from pain
Of looking in the eyes of those who
I’m to chain.
Do not repeat my sins,
Don’t ever close your eyes.
Instead, begin to live
Before your body dies.
