Nothing in the universe is silent:
some songs elude the range
that humans hear;
from the cold park's dark arena
where the eye outstrips the ear
to register the play of energy
we call the galaxy,
synaptic sorcery, or synaesthesia,
nostalgia for the absolute,
the music of the spheres,
transmutes the visible
to audible: the stars ring clear…
