Cherries in the Bascket
Under the sun. To see how the gentle colors fit
The air, the trees, the chirp of birds, the sky,
That was so blue.
I placed the canvas on the ground and paused
Beside it thinking of what else
Can bring more life to the cherries I've depicted?
The wind was whispering in trees,
The clouds were slowly drifting…
With my peripheral vision I caught some movement
And froze, pretending that I slept.
A yellow butterfly descended from above and sat
On the cherries in the canvas. At the thought
That I have caused that full of magic moment
I startled and away the butterfly was gone.
