A diamond, a stone provoking thought...

A diamond, a stone provoking thought,
(as much as I persistent it is bright),
a prison cell for pearly, sparkling light,
itself was in a golden prison caught.

Chloris, who even for a ring would not
oppress her finger, delicate and white,
one day released the stone with delight
from golden bonds with which she briefly fought.

But a deceptive sliver gave a blow,
insidious brass has struck to cut and drain
divine blood, allowing it to flow

on crystal hand. Oh, crimson dyes don’t stain
more brightly whitest, freshest morning snow.
Carnations of the Dawn destroyed in vain.

* * *

sacrнlego divina sangre bebe:

pъrura ilustrу menos indiano
marfil; invidiosa, sobre nieve
claveles deshojу la Aurora en vano.
