Road xxi
This poem won the American
Poetry's Society Award.
I got her from H.A., one of my friends,
He said: "Don't sell and don't ya hurt ma baby,
Just drive her back after you'll see how's great our land,
Don't promise anything, enough if you think "maybe".
...And then it happened, with the luck flowing my way,
The stars and city lights - dark shouldn't come along,
I'm one of all to saddle infinite highways,
And, by the way, I'm not the first to sing this song:
Forever best Black Label Scottish Whiskey,
For sure, my 2-wheel baby needs this work,
Last night I fell in love with ancient disco,
Old-fashioned women, beer, and Chinese pork.
Behind my heart life's flying, well, so risky,
Sometimes, I'm tellin' ya too many dirty jokes,
But,babe,
Last night I've sing a country song in good old Frisco,
Tomorrow I'll hip-hop in New York!
