In the Shadows of the Heart

In silence hangs the hour's chime,
We weary souls in dreams entwined.
Though thoughts may linger, twist and sway,
The heart bids fond farewell to day.

As shadows fall, one figure shows,
Yet time demands what only flows.
A kiss profound, like fire's glow,
Can lips be sweet, like whispers blow?

In tender night, where secrets churn,
Does longing spark a flame that burns?
Oh, can there be such gentle spark
To steal a heart and leave its mark?
