Lost Hope

In a city of dreams, where shadows weep,
Cold and dark, I drown in tears so deep.
Returning home to endless solitude's embrace,
Longing to be with you, to find my place.

But alas, tears choke me at dawn's first light,
A heart turned cold, without your warmth, no delight.
Life's meaning slips away, like shadows that fade,
Strength to continue dwindles, all efforts delayed.

Once a fire blazed in the depths of my soul,
Love's vibrant flame, a passionate goal.
Now that warmth has vanished, leaving embers behind,
A relentless sorrow, an ache unconfined.

I spiral downwards, where darkness prevails,
Crushed by the weight of love's haunting tales.
To be near you - a vision, so precious, so bold,
Yet solitude's grip is a vice, uncontrolled.

How can I endure this chill in my bones,
With echoes of laughter and whispers like stones?
What a tragedy it is, to awaken alone,
As life’s meaning drifts like a phantom, unknown.

How to carry on without love’s sweet embrace?
To wander through shadows, in a desolate space?
Oh, what a curse, to seek out a sign,
In a world stripped of warmth, where hope fails to shine.
