Master, Teach Me Wisdom
I'd be wise, but how do I find out?'
'First, take away the right from others
To define who you are or what you're about.'
'But how, Master?'
'One will say, 'You're flawed, a dismal sight,'
And you'll believe them, feeling downcast.
Another may proclaim, 'You're pure and bright,'
And you'll rejoice, your spirits amassed.
When they hold sway, deciding your worth,
Or whether you're good or bad, you'll lose your way.
Retrieve that power, granting them no birth,
Not even to me, for it's yours to sway.'
